چکیده

B2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) gene variation could explain differences in bronchodilator response among patients with asthma or identify a subgroup of patients with reduced response. The aim of our research was identified polymorphisms in the ADRB2 gene in Russian asthma pediatric patients (in Perm region). 44 children from 3 to 18 years of age with bronchial asthma were examined. Mild asthma was in 95,5%, moderate asthma – in 4,5%. Gly16Arg and Gln27Glu mutations of ADRB2 gene were identified by PCR technique.

ADAM33 gene polymorphisms in Southwestern Iranian patients with asthma

Objective(s): Asthma, the most frequent chronic respiratory disease, results from a complex interaction between multiple genes and environmental factors. To date, more than 100 candidate genes and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been reported to be associated with asthma. One of the discovered genes related to asthma is ADAM33. However, the relationship between ADAM33 gene polymorph...

Asthma: Gln27Glu and Arg16Gly polymorphisms of the beta2-adrenergic receptor gene as risk factors

BACKGROUND Asthma is caused by both environmental and genetic factors. The ADRB2 gene, which encodes the beta 2-adrenergic receptor, is one of the most extensively studied genes with respect to asthma prevalence and severity. The Arg16Gly (+46A > G) and Gln27Glu (+79C > G) polymorphisms in the ADRB2 gene cause changes in the amino acids flanking the receptor ligand site, altering the response t...

Beta2-adrenoceptor polymorphisms and asthma from childhood to middle age in the British 1958 birth cohort: a genetic association study.

BACKGROUND Functionally relevant polymorphisms of the beta2-adrenoceptor gene (ADRB2) are common in white populations, but their contribution to the burden of airways disease in the population is uncertain. We aimed to relate the long-term prevalence of asthma or wheeze to functional coding region polymorphisms in the ADRB2 gene. METHODS The British 1958 birth cohort consisted of all people b...

Association of ADAM33 gene polymorphisms with allergic asthma

Objective(s): Asthma results from the interaction between genetic and environmental factors. ADAM33 gene on chromosome 20p13 is associated with asthma and airway hyperresponsiveness. Materials and Methods: This is a case-control study, where four SNPs S1 (rs3918396), T1 (rs2280091), T2 (rs2280090), V4 (rs2787094) of ADAM33 gene have been assessed in patients with allergic asthma and normal con...

Effect of β2-adrenergic receptor gene (ADRB2) 3′ untranslated region polymorphisms on inhaled corticosteroid/long-acting β2-adrenergic agonist response

BACKGROUND Evidence suggests that variation in the length of the poly-C repeat in the 3' untranslated region (3'UTR) of the β2-adrenergic receptor gene (ADRB2) may contribute to interindividual variation in β-agonist response. However, methodology in previous studies limited the assessment of the effect of sequence variation in the context of poly-C repeat length. The objectives of this study w...
